Cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide, and managing risk factors effectively is critical to improving patient outcomes. This dynamic and practical course provides an in-depth review of the most current evidence-based strategies for identifying, stratifying, and reducing cardiovascular risk across diverse patient populations.
Dr. Elena Martinez, a board-certified cardiologist and thought leader in preventive cardiology, guides participants through the latest updates in hypertension management, lipid-lowering therapy, and diabetes-related cardiovascular risk. The session also highlights the evolving role of SGLT2 inhibitors and GLP-1 receptor agonists in cardiometabolic care, along with emerging biomarkers and risk calculators.
By the end of this course, learners will be able to:
· Interpret current clinical guidelines for hypertension, lipid, and diabetes management.
· Apply updated risk stratification tools such as ASCVD and CAC scoring in practice.
· Evaluate pharmacologic and lifestyle interventions to reduce cardiovascular risk.
· Identify special considerations for high-risk populations including women, older adults, and patients with chronic kidney disease.
